Ben Buchbut, our field coordinator, writes:

“Today I arrived at Hanina’s farm in the Binyamin region for our weekly tree-planting event, dedicated to Sergeant First Class Moti Rave. His story is truly special.

Moti came from the Haredi (ultra-Orthodox) community and didn’t enlist in the army as a young man. Later, he moved to the Hebron Hills, where he worked with heavy machinery, helping to clear roads and build infrastructure, greatly supporting local communities.

When the War of Iron Swords broke out, Moti decided he had to serve his country, even at the age of 37. He successfully enlisted, completed basic training, and soon after was among the first to enter Rafah with his D9 bulldozer, doing essential work.

Moti fell in battle in Rafah when his vehicle was struck by an anti-tank missile. He left behind a wife and two daughters.

Moti’s life is a testament to deep love for the Land of Israel and shows that there is no specific age or time to contribute to one’s country—it’s something that can be done at any moment.

May his memory be a blessing 🙏🇮🇱”
