This week, Im Tirtzu’s Legal Division uncovered that Israel’s Prison Service updated its guidelines in July to allow jailed Hamas terrorists to receive an extra NIS 200 per month from their families to purchase goods in the prison canteen.
These new guidelines are a direct contradiction of the policy set forth last year by Israel’s Public Security Ministry (that came about following Im Tirtzu’s initiative), which explicitly states that the amount of money jailed terrorists can receive will be significantly reduced in an effort to increase deterrence.
Even more infuriating – Israel permits the Palestinian Authority to transfer 400 shekels a month in blood money to Hamas terrorists who are residents of the Palestinian Authority.
Now that this absurdity has been revealed, we will do all in our power to ensure that it’s fixed.
