On Tuesday evening, audio recordings were released of a Hebrew University professor berating and humiliating a student who attended class in an IDF uniform.
Im Tirtzu immediately leaped into action. In the span of 24 hours,
- Our activists at Hebrew University organized a widely-covered protest on campus and are organizing a large “uniform protest” for next week.

We obtained exclusive video footage of the incident from one of our student activists and distributed it to the media to be broadcasted to hundreds of thousands of people. On Im Tirtzu’s Facebook page alone it was viewed over 150,000 times.

We started a petition and facilitated the sending of over 35,000 emails to the university administration, demanding that they dismiss the professor.

Im Tirtzu was mentioned and featured in over 30 media items, including interviews on Israel’s leading TV and radio programs (see below).
We will not remain silent and allow this incident to be swept under the rug.
This professor, Dr. Carola Hilfrich, who has also accused the IDF of “massacring” innocents in Gaza and supported refusing orders to serve in Judea & Samaria, has no place in a publicly funded institution.
