In its new campaign, the New Israel Fund callously used the image of former Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin to attack us. This smear campaign was banned by the Jerusalem Municipality, which stated that the NIF’s “advertisement defames Im Tirtzu in that it implies that the group was responsible for the murder of former Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin.”
In addition, “In the opinion of the municipality’s legal counsel, the description of former Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin as a ‘foreign agent’ harms his memory.”
Im Tirzu CEO Matan Peleg said in response to the new NIF campaign that “the New Israel Fund, despite its misleading name, is an American foundation which since its inception has been supporting – with millions of dollars – radical organizations engaged in incitement against Israeli soldiers and persecution of officers, promotion of boycotting Israeli products and striving to isolate Israel in the world. Breaking the Silence, Adalah, B’Tselem, ACRI, Bimkom, Mossawa, MachsomWatch and more, are just some of the foreign agent organizations it funds. The New Israel Fund is the queen of the foreign agent organizations.”
Fortunately for the State of Israel, the New Israel Fund is currently wasting its money on embarrassing public campaigns instead of on incitement against Israel and its soldiers.
