We are proud to report about the launching, on Wed., Oct. 14th, of the Im Tirtzu Knesset Caucus to Promote Minority Enlistment in the IDF and National Service. The Caucus was initiated by Im Tirtzu, in keeping with our goals of strengthening an Israel inspired by, and committed to, its Zionist vision. The full integration of Israel’s non-Jewish minorities in the Jewish State, symbolized by their willingness to fulfill their obligations as citizens, serving in the IDF and participating in the civilian National Service, is of crucial importance.
The significance attached by Israel’s parliament to Im Tirtzu was demonstrated by the attendance of 12 distinguished Knesset members, headed by Deputy Minister Ayub Kara and including MK’s from both coalition and opposition in the festive event marking the launching. The event was chaired by the caucus co-chairs, MK’s Miki Zohar of Likud and Meirav Ben-Ari of Kulanu. Other MK’s in attendance were Colonel (Res.) Omer Bar-Lev Former commander of the elite Sayeret Matcal, Zionist Union; Lt. Colonel (Res.) Anat Berko, PhD, Likud; Oren Chazan, Likud; Avi Dichter, former head of the GSS, former Minister of Internal Security and Home Defense, Likud; Tzachi Hanegbi, Majority Whip and Chairman, International Relations ad Security Committee, Likud; Lt. Colonel, Pilot, (Res.) Yoav Kish, Likud; Nurit Koren, Likud; Avraham Nagosa, Likud; and Colonel (Res.) Motti Yogev, Jewish Home.
The honored guests at this event were Zionist leaders of Israel’s minorities-Druze leader Kara, Sarah Zoabi, an “Arab, Muslim, Israeli, Proud Zionist”, Father Gabriel Nadaf of the Aramaean (Christian Arab) minority and Muhamed Kaabiyah of the Beduin community.
Im Tirtzu has now positioned itself as a recognized spokesman for the Zionist minority population. Im Tirtzu’s Zionist-Democratic Knesset Guard will be at the forefront of the efforts promoting legislation and administrative action in defense of these populations and to encourage their full integration into Israeli society.

A new parliamentary caucus was launched in the Knesset on Wednesday to promote the recruitment of minorities into the IDF and national service. The caucus, headed by MKs Miki Zohar (Likud) and MK Merav Ben-Ari (Kulanu) based on the idea of Im Tirtzu, which describes itself as a pro-Israel grassroots movement, also intends to fight incitement against minorities that join the IDF.
