Amazing Im Tirtzu Achievement for IDF Reservists!

Share it!:

This week, the Committee of University Heads in Israel announced that universities will begin granting two academic credits to IDF reservists who serve at least 18 days a year.

This important decision came in light of a report published by Im Tirtzu in October 2017 on the subject of reservists’ rights in academia. The report revealed how the majority of Israel’s academic institutions opt not to provide IDF reservists with academic credits, despite awarding credits to other “social activities.”

The report, coupled with widespread advocacy efforts on the ground by our student activists, raised awareness for the need to implement measures to assist IDF student reservists who often suffer academically due to their service.

We are proud that our work was the catalyst behind this welcomed decision and we will continue working hard on behalf of IDF soldiers and Israel.
