Big MAZAL TOV to Tom Nisani, Im Tirtzu’s national activist coordinator who married fellow IMTI activist Sarah Lurcat today on Judaism’s holiest site: the Temple Mount.

And not only that – just a few hours later Tom and Sara returned to Im Tirtzu’s office to run an end-of-the-year workshop for IMTI’s branch coordinators and leading activists.

Tom and Sara – We are wishing you a life filled with love, happiness and continuous Zionism activism! Yishar Koach!

Im Tirtzu is proud to have played a leading role in the effort to formulate an academic ethical code to ensure that academia remains pluralistic and free of politicization.

The code, written by author of the IDF Code of Conduct, Prof. Asa Kasher, addresses the issues of politized academic programs, professors promoting BDS, and professors subjecting students to severely politicized content – issues that IMTI has been raising awareness about for years.

Why is the code needed? Click here to read more.

Last week, Hebrew University authorized a pro-terror protest staged by Arab students and did not allow Im Tirtzu activists to hold a counter-protest.

According to the University, waving Israeli flags is a “provocation.” During the protest, an Im Tirtzu activist was physically assaulted by one of the Arab protesters and had to be taken to the hospital.

This is the latest occurrence in a string of incidents where Israeli universities have enabled pro-terror activities and prohibited IMTI activists from staging pro-Israel counter-protests.

IMTI activists will not be deterred and will continue to speak out against pro-terror activity on Israeli campuses.

The event was featured on Channel 2 News’ prime time broadcast.

Im Tirtzu was informed by its activists at Hebrew University that the University’s Faculty of Humanities refused to play Hatikvah, Israel’s national anthem, at their graduation ceremony in order not to offend the Arab students.

IMTI immediately penned a letter to the University’s Dean of Students and brought the story to the media, which soon caught the attention of Prime Minister Netanyahu who joined Im Tirtzu’s call to have Hatikvah played at the graduation ceremony.

Education Minister Naftali Bennett also got involved and phoned the President of Hebrew U to ensure that this incident would not repeat itself.

IMTI activists organized demonstrations at “Nakba” events held at Haifa University, Hebrew University and Tel-Aviv University and distributed IMTI’s Nakba Nonsense booklet and audiobook on USB flash drives.

This year, Haifa University did not permit activists to wave Israeli flags at the demonstration (nor distribute Israeli flags on Yom Haatzmaut), claiming it was a provocation. This serious incident reflects the unfortunate reality at some of Israel’s leading universities, which IMTI is working tirelessly to mend.

In an interview on Galei Tzahal, Israel’s most popular radio station, IMTI’s national branch coordinator explained to the Israeli public the state of affairs at Haifa U.

This year IMTI helped organize a ceremony in Bnei Brak commemorating the Haredi soldiers who fell fighting in Israel’s wars.

Recently, IMTI was contacted by the Haredi faction of the Likud who asked for assistance in organizing the ceremony. The group first organized the ceremony last year, but the small turnout was drowned out by a large amount of extreme Haredi protesters who chased them away.

This year the ceremony more than doubled in size, with dozens of people arriving to pay their respects, including Minister Ayoob Kara. The extreme protesters who arrived to disrupt the ceremony were quickly evicted by the police, who were notified in advance.

Im Tirtzu makes it a point to assist Israeli minorities who wish to integrate into Israeli society. Given this, it was important for us to support those in the Haredi community who support the State of Israel and enlist in the IDF.

Radical anti-Zionism reared its ugly head during the lecture of Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat that was given in the framework of Im Tirtzu’s Seminars for Zionist Thought.

As the mayor began speaking, several radical Left and Arab students began shouting at the mayor, using derogatory and offensive language, and refused to allow him to deliver his lecture.

The lectures were soon evicted by the police and the mayor proceeded to give his lecture as plan.

Last night the Knesset passed a historic law cancelling state-sponsored national service positions in organizations that receive the majority of their funding from foreign governments.

This absurd phenomenon came to light following a report published by Im Tirtzu in October 2016 that revealed how the government provides national service positions to a number of foreign agent organizations, including the anti-Israel NGO B’Tselem, which accuse the IDF of war crimes and work against the State of Israel.

Israel will no longer be supplying manpower to those seeking to destroy it.
