IMTI Together With Residents of the South Block Kerem Shalom Crossing into Gaza

Yesterday morning, Im Tirtzu activists joined together with a group of residents from the south to block the Kerem Shalom crossing into Gaza in protest of the continuous rocket fire on the south.

For over an hour and a half we blocked dozens of trucks containing goods en route to Hamas-controlled Gaza with the aim of raising awareness about the unbearable situation in the south.

Despite the unrelenting rocket fire and incendiary bombing of the south, some 800 trucks of goods pass through Kerem Shalom to Gaza every day.

“Enough is enough, we are sick and tired of this,” said Liana Peretz, one of the protest’s organizers who lives in Kibbutz Kerem Shalom.

“It is inconceivable that my kids need to wake up in the middle of the night and run to bomb shelters, or need to be afraid of balloons and kites. The time has come for the government to wake up and do something,” she said.
