In a recent session of the Foreign Affairs and Security Committee, concerns were raised about anarchists posing a threat to IDF soldiers, police, and settlers. Professionals testified in support of these concerns, emphasizing the seriousness of the situation. Left-wing politician Gilad Kariv also acknowledged the need to address anti-Zionist anarchists supporting BDS.
The committee is actively working to remove anarchists from the ranks of the IDF and police. However, the task is complicated by the revelation that out of 191 reported cases and complaints, a staggering 50% were found to be false. Specific attention was drawn to the South Hebron Hills, where deliberate false complaints by extreme left anarchist organizations, including Ta’ayush, are causing challenges for security forces.
The situation in two central sectors, the Jordan Valley and South Hebron Hills was discussed extensively. Out of 70 reported incidents, approximately 50% were identified as false reports.
